The First "Green Prix of Long Beach" is scheduled for April 20, 2013, from 11:00am - 8:00pm at the Cultural Alliance of Long Beach and Art Park at 727 Pine Ave. and at the MADhaus at 624 Pacific Ave.
Cultural Alliance of Long Beach, Green Education Inc., Millworks, Leadership Long Beach and Green Long Beach! are coordinating the inauguration of a sustainability-themed event called the "Green Prix" on Earth Day, April 20, 2013, to coincide with the Toyota Grand Prix that same weekend.
The event will highlight local green artists, urban farmers, Green Chefs, sustainability and environmental organizations, green vehicles, as well as organic beers/microbrews and local entertainers. Green artists, specifically artists that create works from recycled/repurposed materials, , will be featured at the CALB gallery, as well at MADHAUS and along Pine Street during the event.
Another focus of the festival is to “reactivate” the upper downtown area of Pine Street, specifically the 500-800 blocks of the street. The festival will call attention to existing art galleries, local businesses, future home of Molina HealthCare and the available storefront areas where future businesses can make their home.
